GRAHAM, N.C. - Mr. Joe T. Bunting Sr, 73, of 751 Cheeks Lane, Graham died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 3:15 a.m. following several years of failing health and three days critical illness.
A native of Randolph County, he was the husband of Patty Mullen Bunting, who survives and the son of Joseph Clyde Bunting and Stacy Edwards Bunting, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the Burlington Industries Transportation Division as a truck driver with 27 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Terry Lacman and husband, Louie of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; two sons, Mr. Joe T. Bunting Jr, and Mr. Chris L. Bunting, both of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Louvenia Anderson and husband, James of Morehead City and Mrs. Georgia Culberson of Newport, N.C.; one brother, Mr. J. R. Bunting of Franklin, Tenn.; two grandsons, Jason Bass and Kevin Bass; one granddaughter, Alexis Lacman; and one great-grandson, Dillon Bass.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Graham on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Curtis Oakley. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery in Graham.
The family will receive friends at the Rich and Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Saturday from 10 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. At other times they will be at the residence.
